Samsung hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to exploding devices – years after the infamous Galaxy Note 7’s dangerous defect, it seems that a newer incident involving a Samsung product has once again made headlines after causing injury to a user. More specifically, a post on the Samsung Community forums claims that a user is now suffering from hearing loss after their Galaxy Buds FE exploded during usage.
The earbuds seem to be brand new according to the post, part of which reads:
I never charged them even once, and they came with about 36% charge in the box. When my girlfriend borrowed them and used them, the headphones exploded in her ear, causing her permanent hearing loss. We have a doctor’s report regarding this situation…
Images accompanying the post also show that only one of the earbuds exploded. With that said though, it seems that Samsung is adamant that the earbud exploding was caused by “external factors” and even earlier described the earbud as only deformed and did not explode. At the moment, no other incidents of the same issue have been recorded.
