A few months ago, Samsung released the Galaxy Z Fold 6 foldable phone. It wasn’t a terribly exciting launch since it felt like more of the same thing. But what caught our attention were the rumors that there could be a Special Edition of the Fold 6 in the works, and now we might have a possible launch date.
This information reportedly comes from a Korean retailer who published an ad for when pre-orders and the launch date of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition could take place. According to the retailer, pre-orders will kick off on the 18th of October and run until the 24th of October. The handset is then expected to be officially released on the 25th of October.
We’re not sure how accurate this information is. Sometimes retailers use placeholder dates until they get the official information or get the greenlight to publish. However, these dates do feel rather specific so maybe there could be some truth to it.
That being said, we probably shouldn’t get too excited. The rumors are suggesting that this Special Edition could only be available in Korea and China. The handset is said to be based on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, except that it will feature a larger 8-inch foldable display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. It is also rumored to be slimmer and sport a better camera.
