Future Samsung phones could ditch the Galaxy branding

0

Samsung has pretty good branding for its smartphones. Everyone knows its Galaxy S-series is its flagship series, while the Galaxy Z-series is its foldable series. But moving forwards, Samsung is apparently considering ditching the use of the Galaxy branding for its future premium handsets.

This is according to a report from Korean publication eToday who claims that for future Samsung premium devices, the company might drop the use of the Galaxy name. Apparently Samsung thinks that the Galaxy brand is too big of an umbrella, and to be fair, it is.

The Galaxy brand is used across a multitude of Samsung products. This includes phones ranging from entry-level all the way to high-end. It also covers tablets, laptops, smartwatches, and earbuds. As such, it can be a bit confusing for some to differentiate between the models.

That being said, this decision is still under consideration. The report cites an industry insider who claims that there could be a lot of costs involved with changing or adding a new brand name. Also, if this change happens, it might not be so soon and the Galaxy S25, which is due for 2025, will probably still retain the Galaxy name for now.

But what do you think? Should Samsung rebrand its premium handsets to make it stand out more from the rest of their offerings?
