There have been some back and forth reports regarding the chipset of choice for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Now according to a post on X by Ice Universe has revealed that Samsung could go all-in with Qualcomm for the Galaxy S25 lineup.
In the past, Samsung has used a mix of Qualcomm chipsets and its own Exynos chipsets for its flagship phones. Depending on which part of the world you live in, you might get a phone with an Exynos chipset. This has rubbed many users the wrong way as Qualcomm’s chipsets have proven to be more powerful.
Considering that customers are essentially paying the same price for the same product, we can’t say we blame some users for feeling “cheated”. This isn’t the first time we’re hearing that Samsung could use Qualcomm chipsets across the board for the Galaxy S25 series. There was an earlier report that suggested that Samsung was considering the Exynos 2500, but apparently poor production yields have forced them to ditch the idea.
There was even a report that suggested that Samsung could actually turn to MediaTek, but based on what we’ve heard so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Either way, nothing has been confirmed yet so take it with a grain of salt. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch in the early part of January 2025, so we should have all the details soon enough.
