Xiaomi’s no stranger to pumping out constant wearable devices left and right, and the Redmi Watch 5 is its latest smartwatch launch, alongside the new Redmi K80 series phones. It comes with some new features while keeping a lot of the same functionality, all at an affordable price that starts at around 80 bucks (when converted).
The Redmi Watch 5 retains an aluminum frame and a rotating crown on the right-hand side, although it features a 2-inch AMOLED display which is packs a peak brightness of 1,500 nits. It’s also powered by a 550 mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims is enough to last a maximum of 36 days with power saving, or 12 days with AOD enabled.

For software, there’s HyperOS 2 onboard which means users will get the usual suite of Xiaomi-centric apps and services. There’s a new heartrate sensor that provides better accuracy this time around, in addition to other usual features like sleep tracking, stress and blood oxygen measurements, as well as sports and fitness tracking.
Interestingly, Xiaomi also offers a variant with eSim functionality in addition to the standard WiFI model. it’s currently exclusive for Chinese markets.
