Realme Claims that its Newest Midranger is a “Pro” Smartphone

As far as smartphones are concerned, a lot of manufacturers seem to have a loose definition of what “Pro” means, at least when used in marketing and branding. Take for example the new Realme V60 Pro, which stands out thanks to a pretty low price tag but doesn’t exactly match up against other decidedly Pro-tier smartphones.

For one, the phone’s 6.67-inch screen is an IPS panel with a pretty average 720 x 1604 pixel resolution, and it comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset inside – hardly flagship specs, which begs the question of what made this phone justify its “Pro” moniker in the first place. With that said though, the phone still packs some worthwhile features.

There’s a generous 12GB of RAM onboard the phone, paired with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. In a day and age where most manufacturers still charge a hefty sum for phones with 8GB + 128GB storage configurations, it’s great to see Realme go down this route with the V60 Pro. There’s also a large 5,600 mAh battery with 45W charging, which isn’t too bad.

Other specs include a 50MP main camera, a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as IP69 dust and water resistance. The Realme V60 Pro is exclusive for Chinese markets at the moment though, retailing at around $220 when converted.
