Samsung is looking to milk a few extra Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 sales by repackaging the slate with a keyboard dock and USB dongle accessory and calling it the student edition of the tablet released last spring. The best news, however, is that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Student Edition is said to retail for the same $249 price as the regular edition despite the bundled goodies. Rumors have the Student Edition launching at Best Buy on August 19th, which is just in time to appeal to back to school shoppers around the US. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 features a 7-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor, and WiFi connectivity.

I like that it’s white, but frankly, I prefer my Nexus 7.
I agree. Plus, a Nexus 7 and 3rd party keyboard cost about the same and you get far superior hardware.
I know I can look it up myself, but it’d be nice if the hardware blurb for these devices listed the SoC as well as clock speed and number of cores. Not all dual cores are created equal…
Very good business decision Samsung. Because it was so good, i think im gonna sell my non accessory having Tab 2 and get a Nexus 7.
I could defietly see alot of students going for this. Even though the nexus 7 is extremely better not having an external memory expansion is a huge buzz kill and sammies pretty good about updating their products
Not so certain about Sammy being good on updates. I had the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus for 7 months and it never seen the light of ICS day. Everywhere else but in the U.S. I liked the tablet, but the Nexus 7 just seems to fill the void left by the 7 Plus, and then Samsung brings out the Tab 2 7.0 a few months later $150 cheaper than my 7+ disappointed me, a lot.
I geuss im going off of phones since i have never owned a tablet. I would like the Nexus 7 but idk if i could go without the expanded memory slot
I personally don’t mind the 8GB version as I don’t feel the need to load it with music or videos. The 16GB option would be nice as well, but not necessary. Anytime I want to listen to music, I can upload it to the Amazon cloud player and play it via their MP3 app.
Is the keyboard only 7 inches? because if so, that’s got to be a pain to type on
im stuck b/w nexus 7 and samsung galaxy tab2 7.0 student edition…………………..anyone plz suggest me which one is better…………………………..thank u
