The Android Overload is where we feature the biggest news stories from throughout the day (see above video), as well as stash all of the stories/articles/news bits that didn’t make it onto our front page. But just because they weren’t featured doesn’t mean they aren’t worth taking a look at. In fact, there’s almost always a little something here for everyone. So, take a look around and let us know what you find.

“Sony Xperia ZL headed to Bell in Canada” This is actually a big change. Historically Sony phones could be found only at Rogers.
Hey. The Google Play store now says “Temporarily Out of Stock”. I’ll bet they introduce the 32gb version, finally!
They didn’t :c
Also, I just looked at the specs on BestBuy.com, is says “The MultiMediaCard card slot offers expanded storage options (card not included). ” I thought this device didn’t have a memory expansion slot.
It doesn’t. They cray cray.
Chris, talk to whoever created this phandroid application. In every device I own it is blurry. I have a 1080p screen for a reason, so there are no pixels. This app is so pixely
Thanks for reminding me. Looks booboo on my HTC DNA as well.
STEVEN! You reading this?!?!
xhdpi drawables or bust! :)
Now I’m wondering what it looks like on the Nexus 10 >.<
I fired up my Nexus10 emulator to find out….. that it looks just like the phone app, except stretched out — http://i.imgur.com/U1oCw9X.png Tssk tssk… maybe it’s time for a two-pane upgrade and better layouts for tablet folks?! :)
Also… discovered a little bug: the phandroid app crashes on devices without google services present (amazon kindle and a few others), because it needs it for analytics to function. maybe crash more gracefully?
Steeeeeeven!
This would have been done by now but I breed too fast.
HAHA! Oh yeah! How are the triplets? Got your hands full over there?

I know that one some devices our application does not provide the best layout for easy viewing. Like @JasonFarrell:disqus ‘s screenshot shows.. it does just stretch for larger devices like the Nexus10. Our app does have drawables for larger devices that use xhdpi but I am sure we are missing one or two.
On the other hand, I think @Gamercore:disqus is referring to the thumbnails and images that are in the article details. Mobile apps basically have to fight large images vs network usage. If I made it just grab the largest images possible… I would get a hundred emails a day yelling at me for using too much of their costly data. :)
The good news is that we are working on updates which will include better images, faster loading for articles, better support for Disqus, category filtering and better larger device support in general. We will include tablet layouts so you can take advantage of that large screen.
I could see an update by the end of this month but don’t hold me to that as I have multiple projects that are in development. Like always… thanks for your feedback!
