doubleTwist launches Magic Radio streaming music service

The doubleTwist team has is putting their own spin on streaming music, launch Magic Radio today for a subscription price of $3.99 per month. Magic Radio strives to provide better intelligent playlists by analyzing a users existing library of music and curating a specially-tailored station (apps like Pandora create a music stream generally based on a single song or artist).

Magic Radio, which is compatible with the open source MagicPlay platform developed in conjunction with Qualcomm, provides ad-free listening to a library of over 13 million songs. Users can craft a station by defining keywords, setting a tempo range, and more.

Magic Radio comes as part of the latest update to the doubleTwist music player, which can be downloaded for free over at the Google Play Store now.

  1. pay to use streaming music services are dying thanks to the greed of the big carriers. No one can afford to go past their GeeBees each month, paying to stream music. That holds especially true with free services or private streamed music collections from Amazon or Gmusic, or loading it locally on your device. While at home you can easily get to your full catalog via wifi on a home theater system. Outside of that, the price on this one is a bit excessive
