Looks like Sony could be prepping a new size-conscious tablet. A recently published user manual for Sony’s BSC10 Bluetooth Speaker makes mention of a “Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact” in the list of devices it’s compatible with. Funny, that, considering we haven’t even heard anything about a regular Z3 Tablet. The document also doesn’t make mention of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 that we expect to see announced at IFA 2014 in a few weeks.
Unfortunately this leak doesn’t reveal any useful or meaningful information, though history suggests the device could be just as powerful as any Sony flagship can be. Sony is one of the few companies whose “mini” offerings are about as powerful as the full-sized options, so the Xperia Z3 Tablet’s “compact” designation doesn’t rule out the possibility of a powerful tablet. Beyond a previous rumor that Sony is working on an 8-inch tablet, we don’t have much of a starting point to go on as far as specs go.
All should be revealed in a few weeks, though, and you can bet we’ll be on top of all the latest developments and announcements as they come in. Let us know if you’d consider a smaller tablet from Sony as your next tablet should they bring the thing to IFA at their September 3rd event.
