Motorola Luge Verizon

After we saw some leaked images of the Motorola Luge packaging back on Monday, it really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to find Verizon finally making the device official (however quietly). Now available from Verizon for $300 straight up, or $200 with prepaid service, the “Luge by Motorola” is essentially 2012’s Motorola DROID RAZR M to the tee.

Because selling people a dusty old product probably wouldn’t sit too well with consumers, Verizon has simply rebranded the RAZR M with a new name to lure in all new buyers. As for a quick refresher, you can find the Motorola Luge packing the following cutting edge features:

Motorola Luge

  • 4.3-inch qHD display (with Gorilla Glass)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 1.5GHz dual-core
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal / micro SD expansion
  • 8MP camera
  • 2,000mAh battery
  • NFC
  • Android 4.4 KitKat

Interestingly enough, the Motorola DROID RAZR M is still offered on Verizon prepay. Same phone, different color, no discount. You know, should you be looking for the white model. Link for the Luge by Motorola provided below.

  1. I wonder if the original RAZR M can now be used on Verizon prepaid (since I have an old one laying around).

    1. Actually, it can: http://www.verizonwireless.com/insiders-guide/network-and-plans/prepaid-plans-bring-your-own-device-verizon/

Also, how was that phone? Were you ever happy with it (before upgrading, of course)?

    2. Is this phone worth it? My wife likes Moto and her phone is crapping out.

      1. It’s a very well built mid-range device. The UI is very close to stock and runs buttery smooth. At $200.00 (prepaid), it’s hard to beat.

        1. Thank you. Is it worth $300? She is not on prepaid. Anything better for the price.

          1. At the $300.00 price point I’d definitely consider my options (but it’s still a decent price off contract). Here’s a nice guide to help you out if LTE is required:

  2. Quite possibly the worst phone name ever.

    1. It’s a Luger

      1. Its lube

        1. loogie

    2. I have to disagree. The name is very amusing to me since luge is a funny-sounding word.

  3. Why?

    1. To trick people who don’t know any better

  4. At least it comes with KitKat because the Razr M is stuck on Jellibean….hopefully it’ll be able to be upgradeable to Android L.

    1. The RAZR m had a kk upgrade…
