By Everyone wants in on the tablet market, and that includes Italian kitchenware manufacturer Alessi who plan to bring their AlessiTAB to market in September of this year. The tablet, designed by Stefano Giovannoni, will feature social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter, function as a digital photoframe, and boast a 6-hour battery life.
The AlessiTAB comes with a docking station for displaying the tablet as a sort of central information hub to be placed in the kitchen, making it actually not too far a stretch from what Alessi is known for manufacturing. It will be priced at around 300 euros (~$400). Check out the video below:

I’m a little disappointed they’ve missed the “wall mounting” concept. Especially in Europe where they have even less counter space than the States.

Still this is the closest that I think any tablet has come to convincing me that it’s more useful than a laptop.

Since it has that stand that doesn’t unfold (unless I missed something), I don’t know if I’d consider this a tablet. I mean a tablet you can carry with you, stick in a pack and take with you. This doesn’t think it would be very easily luggable. It does seem like a cool little machine for the kitchen.
Its okay for the kitchen but not much else but we will see.
