Yesterday we were able to get a close look at the Huawei Watch, but we weren’t actually able to get our hands on it. Today we finally fixed that. Mobile World Congress has produced some awesome Android devices this year, but the Huawei Watch might our favorite. It came out of nowhere and really surprised us. After holding it in our hands we’re still very impressed.
What sets the Huawei Watch apart is the “no compromise” round display. Current round devices all make some sort of sacrifice. The Moto 360 has small bezels, but the infamous “flat tire” keeps the display from being perfectly round. LG’s watches manage to have perfectly round displays, but the bezels are very large. Huawei somehow made a smartwatch with minimal bezel and a perfectly round display.
The display is 1.4-inch AMOLED with 286ppi, and looks really great. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, and has 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, 300mAh battery, and a 6-axis sensor for fitness tracking. The Huawei Watch will be sold in 20 countries (including North America), but we don’t know when it will go on sale or how much it will cost. When it does go on sale it will be available in black, silver, and gold.
At what price would you buy the Huawei Watch? Do you think it looks better than the Moto 360 or LG Watch Urbane?
looks really nice….I’m going to go on a ledge and say this will be at the $200 mark…..
If your ledge is accurate within $50 I will have one of these once released… Oh Yes… I shall…
me too! I see they like to price things on the low end….and with all others pricing in between 250-300, I would imagine they want to make a splash at $200…if not lower. sign me up!
I hope you’re right, but unfortunately, I think you’re off. The newly announced Talkband B2 will be around 200, and I think this will be closer to 250-275.
I have the Zenwatch and it was right at 200….this just seems about the same in terms of specs. Just hopeful wishing.
Just take my money and give it to me…
here here!
How much tho?
Is there an actual name for it yet? I assume it won’t just be called the Huawei Watch. Huatch?
That’s the name, just like the Apple Watch. ;)
I like, but I like the Urbane just a little better.
Ever since I first saw Dick Tracy I dreamed of watches like these and I’m happy to see so many companies making their own versions.
Huawei: spying on you at a wrist’s glance.
Hey, according to Snowden, the NSA infiltrated Huawei and is spying on them!
LOL, with the NSA’s surveillance, I think we can safely go with Huawei.
Nice but I’m going to wait for the Moto 360 2 that should be out by this Spring.
And price as moto 360 and I am sold. Less than 360, definitely buying. Significantly less, bonus….One thing I prefer with the 360 is the Qi charging though.
isn’t 300mAh small? isn’t anyone worried it won’t even last a day? Because the LG G Watch R for example id 410mAh and it lasts just above a day, imagine this watch!! /: looks great though!
It all depends on the actual processor they’re using.
in the side-by-side, the proportions look more “correct” than the 360.
Urbane looks better
I like this watch. I loved the 360 but I feel this watch looks a bit better. The only thing I don’t like is the name. I can’t pronounce it. If people ask what watch I have, I’ll be forced to answer “I don’t know”
Wah-Way :P
And I agree that this looks both as sleek as the 360, but classier, and not as “HUGE PLASTIC WATCH CHIC” as LG’s offerings.
Wah-way? Really? A classy time piece named Wah-way watch. They’re lucky it’s pretty lol. I think the bezel of the LG watch is just too think. I love the way this watch looks but I can’t decide between the gold and the stainless steel.
