If you’ve been using an ASUS ZenFone and have been wondering when you’re device will be receiving the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you won’t have to wait much longer. Via the ASUS ZenTalk forums, an administrator for the forums posted which devices would be receiving the update:
- ASUS PadFone S
- ASUS ZenFone 2
- ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe
- ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition
- ASUS ZenFone 2 laser
- ASUS ZenFone Selfie
- ASUS ZenFone Max
- ASUS ZenFone Zoom
All of these devices are expected to receive the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in Q2 of 2016. There is not a specific date that has been given, but just hang in there and wait for the gooey-goodness of Marshmallow to make it to your devices.
The forum post also states that a few ASUS applications will be released once the update makes its way to your devices:
Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps will automatically be included with the Android M update. These apps will replace three ZenUI apps—ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar—as the default apps in the Android M version of ZenUI if you restore to factory settings after the update.
If you don’t want to use Google’s applications for mail, messaging or calendar, and want to go back to using ASUS’ options, you will be able to download those from the Google Play Store.
