LG’s X-Series of phones was already pretty interesting, with each phone focusing on a key aspect of the experience. The X Cam is great for those who need to take good photos, while the X screen is for those who want the same secondary display featured on the LG V10.
That said, saying a device is good at one thing and OK at the rest probably isn’t the most exciting way to market those devices. Theming them after X-Men characters most certainly is.
ZDNet reports that LG will have 6 X phones by the end of it all, all of which are accompanied by power-wielding superheroes. Here’s the quick rundown:
- LG X power: Professor X
- LG X screen: Nightcrawler
- LG X style: Mystique
- LG X cam: Cyclops
- LG X max: Beast
- LG X mach: Quicksilver
We can dig it. This is all to promote the newly-launched X-Men Apocalypse film, of course, so the timing is pretty good (if not a bit late).
As you can see, LG has 2 new X phones — the Mach and Max — that we haven’t even heard of until now. Unfortunately, we have no details on what these phones’ specs and best qualities are, but we imagine the Mach has something to do with data speed, while the Max likely has the biggest and sharpest display of all these phones. As for their arrival date, LG only mentioned “soon.”
