Samsung Gear VR is a great, affordable option for experiencing VR if you’ve already bought into Samsung’s ecosystem. A new report from SamMobile suggests the company is working on a way to make controlling its VR headset much easier for those who have fully bought into Samsung’s smart ecosystem.
The report says the company is working on a Gear VR remote control app for Gear S2 and S3 smartwatch devices. Once the app is connected, users can go back or forward in the gallery by rotating the bezel and pressing physical buttons to confirm the selection. The same controls will carry over to VR videos and games that accept the rotating bezel as an input method.
There’s no indication when Samsung will release the app, but it could be something the company debuts alongside the Galaxy S8 early next year.
