Cameras are a huge part of smartphones. A bad one can doom a great smartphone from the start. Nexus devices in the past have had poor cameras, but last year the Nexus 6P changed that. The newly announced Pixel phones hope to build on that success. According to the folks are DxOMark, they’ve hit the ball out of the park.
DxO gave the Pixel a score of 89, which is the highest score they have ever given a smartphone. The HTC 10, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and Sony Xperia X Performance were previously at the top with a score of 88. The iPhone 7 was recently given a score of 86. Now, this doesn’t automatically mean the Pixel has the best camera in the world. The HTC 10 had a great score, but many would consider the LG G5 (86) to have the better camera. Only real world results will tell the story.
