The iPhone 8 has officially been announced, and we’re taking a look at how well the latest “Standard” iPhone stands up against the competition. This time around, we’re taking a look at the HTC U11 to help you decide which option is better in the long run.
Unlike Android OEM’s, Apple is usually pretty hush, hush about the specs for its devices, save for the screen size, processor, and camera. However, we already know a bit about the 8 Plus, as the device features a 4.7-inch LCD display, compared to the 5.5-inch Super LCD panel found on the HTC U11.
As for the rest of the specs, we know that the iPhone 8 comes equipped with Apple’s new A11Bionic processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The amount of RAM seems like something you would see out of a budget phone, and this sentiment rings true compared to the U11’s 6GB of RAM (if you opt for the super model) or 4GB for the standard U11.
When it comes to the camera, the iPhone 8 features a single 12MP rear sensor, which includes phase detection autofocus and OIS. Similar the iPhone 8, the HTC U11 does not feature a dual camera system, instead, opting for a single 12.3MP sensor along with EIS, phase detection, and laser autofocus.
Other than the cameras, the iPhone 8 includes the ability to wirelessly charge via an inductive Qi charging pad. Meanwhile, the aluminum body found on the U11 prevents HTC’s 2017 flagship from being able to do so.
