Amazon is doing its best to make sure it gives Google Assistant some stiff competition with Alexa, as the company has started integrating the personal assistant into devices you can take beyond your home. The Amazon Tap Bluetooth portable speaker launched in May 2016 at $129.99. We’ve seen a handful of discounts on the device since then, but none have brought it down to today’s deal price of $79.99.
If you’re already in Amazon’s Alexa ecosystem with controlling the smart devices in your home, this makes a great addition. You just tap the device and ask for any music you want through multiple supported services, including Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. Amazon says you can get at least 9 hours of continuous playback from the battery included in the Tap and at least 8 hours when in hands-free mode.
If you want to jump on this deal you only have a handful of hours left to do so, as it’s only good for 24 hours.
