Earlier this year, the Jackery Explorer 1000 was unveiled, and this is one of the most impressive portable power stations on the market. There are ports and plugs for just about everything you could want, making it the perfect companion for those weekend camping trips.
These are not the same as your portable chargers that can be carried around in your backpack or luggage. Instead, you’ll need some dedicated space in the car or closet to keep the Explorer 1000 handy and at the ready for whatever you need.
If you go camping frequently
The obvious benefit to getting the Explorer 1000 is if you and/or the family love to camp. You don’t want to drain the battery down in your car when it’s not running, and your portable chargers will only last for so long. With this Power Station, you’ll be able to prop your feet up, keep your devices charged, and enjoy the great outdoors.
In the event of an emergency
Mother Nature can be crazy sometimes, and when that happens you might end up losing power. The world doesn’t stop turning, so you’ll need to eat, have something to drink, or keep your devices charged up to keep in contact with everyone. But perhaps the most impressive aspect is that you can attempt to keep your refrigerator running if the power outage is going to be longer than you expected.
Lighter and smaller than an actual generator
While an actual generator presents more than a few pros and cons, there is something to be said about having a Power Station over a generator. First of all, it’s much less expensive, to go along with the portability aspect of it. The Jackery Explorer E1000 weighs in at just 22 pounds, while some portable generators come in around 200 pounds. Plus, you won’t have to worry about any toxic emissions polluting your air while the Power Station is running.
For those who want to experience a Solar Generator
For some, the world seems to be a bit behind in harnessing the power of the sun, but that’s not the case with the Explorer 1000. This Power Station can be recharged via Solar energy, but there is a bit of a catch. You will need to pick up the Jackery SolarSaga 100, as these are the panels recommended by Jackery to do the job right. But then you can experience what it’s like to go 100% solar and forget driving up the electric bill.
Just for fun
This one’s for the power nuts out there, but if you like to have a bunch of portable chargers, or just like the idea of having more power, then you can’t go wrong with the Jackery Explorer 1000. There are three traditional AC plugs, an LED information panel, two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, and even a DC carport. This has everything one could want to keep their devices running or charging. And hey, it never hurts to have a power station handy, in the event that you find yourself in one of the aforementioned situations.
