After seeing the rumored partnership between Samsung and Google come to fruition, all eyes have turned to see what changes are coming in Wear OS. Not only that, but we still don’t have any devices that are capable of (that we know of) running this new wearable software. Because of this, we’re clamoring for more information about Samsung’s next smartwatch in the Galaxy Watch 4.

Thanks again to @UniverseIce on Twitter, who revealed that Samsung will be launching both the Watch 4 and Watch Active 4, shared details regarding what will be under the hood. It seems that the Watch 4 will indeed run “TizenWear OS”, and will be powered by a new 5nm processor.
As for the design, Samsung will be using 2D glass instead of 2.5D, while introducing slimmer bezels. Roland Quandt of WinFuture then jumped in regarding the case materials. UniverseIce shared that it was suspected to be made from a titanium alloy, but Quandt cleared up any confusion, claiming that there will be one model made with aluminum, while another will feature stainless steel.

The next question becomes whether there will be a “standard” or “premium” model, and how much the Watch 4 will be priced at. We’re expecting to see the Watch 4 launched in August when the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are likely to hit the market. It makes sense for Samsung to bring its flagship smartwatch with its next flagship smartphones. Considering that we’re still a few months away, don’t be surprised if more information is shared ahead of its launch.
