Back in April, TCL announced a few new phones, but at the time, those devices were only available in select markets like the UK. Today, TCL has announced that it is bringing a trio of devices to the US, and these include the TCL Pro 20 5G, TCL 20S, and TCL 20 SE.
TCL 20 Pro 5G
The TCL Pro 20 5G is the premium option of the group, sporting a 6.67-inch AMOLED display while being powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G and 6GB of RAM. You’ll also find 256GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card up to 1TB. In addition to the sleek design, the Pro 20 5G also sports a quad-camera array headlined by the 48MP Sony IMX582 primary lens, a 16MP ultrawide camera, along with a 5MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor.
For now, the device will launch with compatibility for T-Mobile 5G network, along with AT&T’s LTE network, but the company does plan to enable access to Verizon’s 5G network in the coming weeks. The TCL Pro 20 5G is available unlocked for around $500 and comes in either Marine Blue and Moondust Gray.
TCL 20S
Next up we have the TCL 20S, which features the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display as the 20 Pro 5G, but the processor is dropped down to the Snapdragon 665. This is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, while also using a quad-camera array. We have a 64MP primary lens, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The 20S is expected to last a few days on a single charge thanks to the 5,000mAh cell packed into it. TCL also included 18W fast charging, while also making the 20S compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. You’ll miss out on 5G here, but the 20S is priced at just $250 and is coming soon to Amazon.
TCL 20 SE
Rounding out the bunch is the TCL 20 SE, and is the company’s latest entry-level model. It sports the largest display of the bunch, measuring in at 6.82-inches with an HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. Powering the 20 SE is the Snapdragon 460, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage, which is honestly a bit of a bummer.
TCL tries to make up for it though, also bringing a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary lens, a 5MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Although the quality of your pictures isn’t going to be the greatest, it’s still nice to have four cameras to choose from even on this budget-minded handset.
We also have the same 5,000mAh cell as the TCL 20S, but you won’t find any fast charging or wireless charging capabilities. But hey, at least TCL is using USB-C here and not switching to microUSB as we’ve seen on similarly-priced devices. Another change comes via the fingerprint scanner, as this has been moved to the back of the phone, instead of being mounted on the side.
The TCL 20 SE is priced at $190, and since there’s no 5G option, it will work with just about any carrier in the US (or around the world).
