The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic have only been available for less than a week, but we’re already seeing the second update arrive (via TizenHelp). This new update carries a version number of R8**XXU1BUH9 and is rolling out to owners of the Watch 4 series in the US, Germany, Italy, and the UK.
Although we’re still waiting for the ability to switch from Bixby to Google Assistant, this update does add some useful fitness tracking features. The first of which is the ability to edit and manage your Samsung Health metrics right on the watch instead of having to constantly reach for your phone. This is one of the features Samsung is porting over to Wear OS from Tizen OS, and makes it much easier to check out your metrics on the go.
Also included in the update are two more improvements in regards to health and fitness tracking. The first of which is improved calorie measurement when using your Galaxy Watch 4 and one of the cycling exercises. And finally, there’s a new “cancel” button whenever your watch attempts to use Automatic Workout Detection.
We’re still awaiting the arrival of the update on our Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, but Samsung is likely just rolling it out in stages. Let us know if there’s something in the update that we missed, and in the meantime, let us know whether you picked up the Galaxy Watch 4 or Watch 4 Classic for yourself!
