So far the only region with some idea of when they will se the Samsung Galaxy Tab is Europe, where it should be reaching shelves later this month. While we still have no idea what the American release strategy looks like, the Tab will be heading to India where it may be available in October at a price of 30,000 to 40,000 INR (~$642-$857). That seems decently priced considering the Galaxy S phone itself costs about 30,000 INR, though overall the Galaxy Tab still seems quite expensive. Word continues to roll in that through subsidies with carrier launches the Tab will be had for far lower, more like $200 or $300.

India is making their own $35 7″ Android tablet. See my video: http://armdevices.net/2010/07/23/indias-35-tablet-is-based-on-my-video/
Galaxy Tab is $1000 unlocked in Europe.
I guess samsung would have to buy their own tablets.the cost is outrageuos
Indian telecoms do not have contracts so the users buy their phones or devices up front full price. So they have been used to buying Android phones (the Samsung Galaxy models very popular there) at around $400-600. So the price for the tablet may not be that big a deal given it will be bought mainly by Indian professions. The inexpensive $35 tablet is meant for non professional consumer market there which is quite large.
