It is pretty much a sure thing that Verizon will see the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and we have a good idea it will be on Sprint too. But now word is coming out that the Tab will also find its way to AT&T. I know, a real shocker. Especially when considering the companies roll-out strategy for the Galaxy S. We highly doubt the company would go as far as to honor the almost ridiculous need by the American carriers to get “exclusive” versions as was the case with the S, though there is a good amount of buzz that the Sprint version will carry a WiMAX chip for 4G connectivity.
The Wall Street Journal article mentioning AT&T as one of the carriers to receive the Tab also goes on to suggest this week’s Samsung event being held in New York will be dedicated to the American unveiling of the slate. Sounds good to me, we’ll be there covering whatever should come out of the press event.

Unless I can buy this Tab with NO contract (preferably from somewhere like Best Buy) for a price comparable to an iPad, I won’t be buying one.
I think you guy should do a survey of Evo owners and ask them what they think of Wimax.
I think it’s a joke. The most awful wireless service anyone has ever offered. I’ve used everyone’s service, but Verizon’s and Wimax sucks. But EVDO rev A is awesome so it doesn’t really matter.
However, I would hate to buy a Tab just cause it has Wimax. It’s the worst $10 a month I have ever spent. Sprint is begging for a class action lawsuit.
I see T-Mo gives us the shaft once again.
What the hell! Where’s tmobile? I guess my vibrant is enough.
i think wimax is great if they get it up and workin 100%
evdo rev A lags all the time when you play video
@C
You apparently are talking to the wrong people or those not trained enough with the phone to know how to use 4g, because I am in a non advertised 4g location (Nashville) and I still am pulling anywhere between 10-12 mbps download speed.
In most places the cable internet might barely hit that!
Sure the upload is capped at 1mbps, but even cable had theirs capped at 768kbps for like 12 years before the switch to docsis 2.0.
For most of that have 4g in our area there are really no complaints. For those that don’t Sprint gave people like 15 days after getting their 4g phones to call in and get a 10 dollar credit for 2 years solid. I am sure they have probably changed that now, but if you talk to the right person im sure you still can.
C I agree with you sprint is going to get what is coming to them. forcing people to pay ten dollars for a service that isn’t available to them, also charging $30 dollars to enable phones as a wireless hotspot when they dont charge extra for the overdrive to be a mobile hotspot.
@haha the overdrive IS a mobile hotspot. why would they charge extra? now the whole, pay $10 even if the service isn’t available in your area. that is ridiculous and just asking for a lawsuit.
THE EVO IS A MOBILE HOTSPOT PHONE, SPRINT CHARGES $30 TO ENABLE THAT FEATURE, THE OVERDRIVE IS A MOBILE HOTSPOT TOO AND THEY DONT CHARGE EXTRA, THAT IS TWO REASONS SPRINT IS GOING TO GET SUED
Idiots idiots.
