Recent rumors have suggested that Samsung has decided to shelve the Galaxy S21 FE. Apparently the popularity of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has prompted the company to push the handset instead of the Galaxy S21 FE, and we can’t say we’re too surprised.
What we’re really surprised about now is a new report from SamMobile. According to their sources, it seems that Samsung could be delaying the launch of the Galaxy S22 in favor of the Galaxy S21 FE, suggesting that the handset might not be dead after all.
The reason behind the delay is because Samsung has decided that by launching the Galaxy S21 FE, it might draw too much attention away from the Galaxy S22. After all, if there is a cheaper alternative to the phone, it might attract customers who might not want to spend so much money on the Galaxy S22.
It is a very odd choice because by 2022, the Galaxy S21 FE would be considered “old news”, plus many are excited for the Galaxy S22 and the debut of the Exynos 2200 with an AMD GPU. The report goes on to state that Samsung could launch the Galaxy S21 FE in January without much fanfare, and that the Galaxy S22 could instead be pushed to around MWC 2022 which will be taking place late February.
This should of course be taken with a grain of salt for now, so we’ll have to wait and see if other leaksters are going to chime in with corroborations of their own, but what do you think? Is this a smart decision by Samsung?
