Back in August, Netflix began testing an in-app mobile game streaming service allowing subscribers to play various games in addition to streaming movies. However, at the time this in-app game streaming feature was limited to select countries, and Netflix had not shared when it planned to expand to more regions.
The day has arrived, as Netflix made a surprise announcement through a blog post, introducing Netflix Games and the five games that will available to play.

- Shooting Hoops
- Card Blast
- Teeter Up
As you can see the library is not extremely large, but that’s to be expected considering that this is just the initial release. We are expecting more games to arrive in the coming months, but the best part about all of this is that it doesn’t require any additional in-app purchases. As long as you are a Netflix subscriber, you’ll get access to the library of Netflix Games.
Unfortunately, those on iOS are going to be left out for the time being, as this is only available for those using Android phones or tablets. What is a bit odd about how this works is that you aren’t actually streaming the games.
Instead, you’ll load up the Netflix app, navigate to the Netflix Games portion of the app, select the game you want to play, and then download the game from the Play Store. But then, you don’t even launch the game directly, but instead, have to play it from within the Netflix app. It seems very odd to proceed with this method for playing games, but we’ll have to see how the entire experience actually plays out.

Shortly after the blog post went live, the official Netflix Twitter account confirmed that Netflix Games will be available starting tomorrow, November 3rd.
