If you’re shopping for a new television set and you want to go all out, say with an 80-inch TV or larger, then you obviously know that it won’t come cheap. We can’t say we blame the manufacturers for pricing it that high because display tech at those sizes aren’t cheap, but TCL is hoping to break that mold.
As part of its CES 2022 lineup, the company has announced its new XL series of television sets that will offer sizes 80-inches and above. According to TCL, they are catering to the market’s demand, especially in the age of the pandemic where more people are staying home to watch movies, so what better way to try and recreate the cinema experience than with massive TVs, right?
In the lineup of its new XL series, TCL will be offering the 85-inch X925pro model. This model will feature the use of OD Zero mini LED display technology, while at the same time boasting a thinness of just under 10mm, which is pretty crazy as you can see in the photo above. This means that while it will take up a lot of space on your wall, the thin form factor will give you more options on how you want to mount it or display it.
They will also be launching a 98-inch model that uses QLED display technology, and it will be priced starting at under $8,000. We know $8,000 is still a crazy amount to spend on a television set, but like we said, at those sizes and with its display technology, it is cheaper than some of the competition out there.
