Google today announced some new updates for its Google Photos service, which brings some enhancements for its “Memories” feature as well as the collage editor. The updates will arrive for the Photos app on smartphones via an update.
Google Photos will now feature a redesigned approach to its Memories feature, which will provide users with video snippets that will be automatically selected and trimmed by the app, as well as added motion effects to user photos for a more dynamic experience. Google says that instrumental music will also be available next month to add more immersive experiences to the Memories feature.
Additionally, there will also be a new Collage Editor, which will showcase different styles from several featured artists to let users incorporate more variety and creativity to their photo collages, all done with simple drag-and-drop controls. The Collage Editor will also let users edit brightness and contrast in their photos, and add filters as well. Additionally, Google One members will have access to additional editing features like Portrait Light and HDR, for example.
Google Photos users will want to keep an eye out on their app, as the updates will arrive very soon, with the Collage Editor rolling out today for Android and iOS devices.
