In case you didn’t know, Google actually has its own VPN service in the form of Google One VPN which is available to those who subscribe to its 2TB Google One cloud storage service. The feature has been available on iOS and Android only, which means that those on the desktop might have to use a different service.
The good news is that if you’d rather not pay for a different VPN service, Google has recently announced that its VPN service will now be available for the desktop and will be available for those using either Windows or Mac as their OS of choice. It comes in the form of an app so users will need to download it and set it up.
Once the VPN has been setup and it’s been turned on, you should see a VPN key and a green checkmark on either your Windows taskbar or the macOS menu bar. Keep in mind that Google One VPN is currently only available to those who subscribe to the 2TB Google One tier.
The tier is priced at $9.99 and in addition to the 2TB of cloud storage and the VPN service, users will also be able to get 10% back in the Google Store. All in all it’s actually very decently priced considering what you’re getting and compared to other VPN services, so if you’re looking for an all-in-one solution for desktop and mobile, this could be worth checking out.
