It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Google regarding their upcoming Pixel tablet, which was announced a few months back alongside some of its other Pixel-branded products. The company doesn’t seem to be letting out any of its secrets, although that hasn’t stopped the internet from trying to get hold of information about the device itself.

With that said, a post from tech tipster Kuba Wojciechowski has put out some interesting details regarding the Pixel tablet. According to a series of Tweets about the device, Google first developed a prototype “tangor” (T6) with a first-generation Tensor chip, although this was shelved in favour of a Tensor G2-powered “tangorpro” (T6P). It’s reported to have 8GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB of Kioxia UFS storage, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Additional specs include a display with a 2560×1600 pixel resolution, and a RT4539 LED driver. It doesn’t seem like it will use OLED technology, however. The post also shared some photos of the tablet prototype, which features a rather standard design as far as current tablets go. The Pixel tablet was announced back during Google I/O 2022, alongside several other Pixel products such as the Pixel 6a and 7, although Google did not disclose any other information about the device.
