Heads Up! We Might See the Nothing Phone 2 Soon

0

It’s been over several months now since Carl Pei’s Nothing brand launched its first smartphone, and while it took a bit of time for the Nothing Phone 1 to make its way to the US, it looks like a sequel is in the works, which is scheduled to launch later this year.

In an interview with Inverse.com, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has expressed the company’s plans to develop a new Nothing-branded handset, currently known at this time as the Nothing Phone (2), which will be heavily marketed in the US. According to Pei:

“We decided to make the U.S. our No. 1 priority in terms of markets… We couldn’t do it earlier because we were only in our second year and our hands were tied building the team as we were building the products. Now as we’re on a more solid footing, we can take a step forward.”

The Nothing Phone (1) was originally launched last year in London, and was exclusive to non-US markets, being sold in several regions across Europe. That changed though when the company finally decided to sell the device to US consumers this January, at a slightly lower price of $299.

in addition to a unique design characterized by an LED notification set-up on its rear panel, the phone features a 6.55-inch 2400×1080 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a 50Mp f/1.88 Sony IMX766 sensor, and a 50MP f/2.2 Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor, and a 16MP camera on the display.
