Samsung is expected to refresh their foldable lineup later this year with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. If the rumors are true, the Flip 5 is expected to be the more exciting upgrade of the two as Samsung is said to be not changing up the design of the Fold 5 too much (apart from a possible hinge redesign).
Now according to an image shared on Twitter by tipster Ice Universe, it looks like those rumors could be kind of true. This is because based on the image, which shows off an alleged case for the Fold 5, it seems that the design of the Fold 5 won’t differ too greatly from the Fold 4.

Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. If the design of the Fold 4 works, we suppose it makes sense for Samsung to keep using it. On the flip side, for those who are hoping for a visual change, you could be in for a disappointment. We have also heard that on the camera front, Samsung could also be making minimal changes as the Fold 5 was rumored to be using the same camera modules as the Fold 4.
All of this suggests that the Fold 5 might not be the exciting upgrade we were hoping for. We can safely assume that in terms of performance, the handset will benefit from the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but other than that, if you’re coming from the Fold 4, it might not be worth the upgrade.
