Google Announces Fitbit’s Newest Tracker, the Charge 6

Fitbit fans are in for a treat – Google has just taken the wraps off the latest addition to Fitbit’s lineup of fitness-focused wearables, the Fitbit Charge 6. Fitbit says that the Charge 6 features the most accurate heart rate tracking on a fitness tracker, and even comes with connectivity options for compatible gym equipment, including built-in GPS, a feature not commonly found on fitness trackers.

According to Google, the Fitbit Charge 6’s heart rate tracking is powered by a machine learning algorithm that factors in elements from the Pixel Watch’s feature set, although it has been optimized for use in a tracker. This in turn enables to Charge 6 to accurately track a user’s heart rate during activities with 60% more accuracy. Of course, the Charge 6 can also make the most out of Fitbit’s new and revamped smartphone app, in addition to over 40 different workout modes.

In terms of battery life, the Charge 6 can last up to 7 days’ worth of usage, and comes with the usual suite of Fitbit’s fitness tracking features, workout modes, and connectivity to Android and iOS devices. Users can also control YouTube Music, Google Maps, and Google Wallet from their device.
