A while back, UGREEN announced that it was launching two news portable magnetic power banks, which are designed for easy on-the-go charging for compatible smartphones. As such, we have the UGREEN 5,000 mAh Magnetic Wireless Power Bank here today, and we’re going to take a look at its features.
In terms of design, the UGREEN Power Bank comes with a very minimalist and compact look with a matte finish all over. It’s around the same size as some external drives, and around the same thickness as most smartphones, and this lightweight design makes it a breeze to carry with you. On the bottom you’ll find a USB-C port, a power button, as well as LED indicator lights, while the front features a ring which clips onto MagSafe-compatible phones.
Speaking of compatibility, the Power Bank works with with several iPhone models ranging from the iPhone 12 all the way up to last year’s 15 series (and presumably future models as well). It worked seamlessly with the iPhone 15 Pro that I have, and was even able to work with a case on the phone. I also tried it out on my Pixel 7a which supports wireless charging, and it worked as expected.
For charging, it comes with support for 7.5W wireless charging speeds, although there’s also support for wired charging via a USB-C port with a maximum power of PD 15W and support for 15W input. It also features trickle charging for small devices with tens of milliamps, including AirPods and similar devices – trickle charging can be easily activated using the power button.
Additionally, it also has built-in safety features including Overcurrent Protection, Overheating Protection, Shortcircuit Protection and Overvoltage Protection, so you can rest assured that you won’t run into any problems while charging. For price, the UGREEN 5,000 mAh Power Bank usually goes for around $30, but you can occasionally get it for cheaper with special deals. You can check it out using the link below.
