How to reset the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

0

Ideally, our smartwatches should be able to run all the time without any issues, but that’s not real life. In reality, there are many things that could potentially cause a device to malfunction, freeze up, crash, and so on. This is where resetting a device comes in. If you got your hands on Samsung’s latest smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and you want to know how to reset it, then this guide is for you.

Before you reset

There are various reasons why you might want to reset your Galaxy Watch Ultra. Maybe you’re giving it away or selling it off. Or maybe there’s an issue that cannot be fixed by turning it off and back on again. This is where a reset can come in handy. A reset usually puts a device back to its original state when you bought it, so if there are issues like corrupted files, it should, in theory, be resolved this way.

Before you proceed to resetting your smartwatch, you should consider backing it up first. This will prevent data loss since a reset will wipe all your smartwatch’s data. This includes apps that are installed, any photos or media files, and so on. Once you’re done with the backup, you can proceed following the steps below.

Reset your Galaxy Watch Ultra

There are a couple of ways that you can reset the Galaxy Watch Ultra. One of those methods is directly on the watch itself.

  1. On the Galaxy Watch Ultra, launch the Settings app
  2. Swipe and tap General
  3. Select Reset
  4. Tap the checkmark and follow the instructions on your watch’s screen to complete the reset process

Alternatively, you can also reset your smartwatch using Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app.

  1. Launch the Galaxy Wearable app on the phone that your Galaxy Watch Ultra is connected to
  2. Select Watch Settings
  3. Tap on General
  4. Select Reset
  5. Tap on Reset again to confirm your selection
