Whenever Google launches a new Pixel phone, they usually introduce some features that are exclusive to that particular device. The good news is that if you’re not planning on buying Google’s latest Pixel phone, it seems that some exclusive Pixel 9 features could be making its way to older Pixel handsets in a future update.
According to an APK teardown by Android Authority in collaboration with Assemble Debug, they have uncovered some evidence. This is based on the APK teardown of Google Photos. From their findings, it seems that features like Reimagine and Auto Frame will be headed towards older devices like the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 9 series.
Google does this from time to time, where certain exclusive features are eventually brought into Android as a whole, or the older Pixel phones. Sometimes certain features do not make the cut. It is possible that it could be due to hardware limitations, where some features may require a more powerful chipset to pull off.
Either way, we’ll have to wait and see when this update will roll out. So, if you have no plans to get the Pixel 9 but wouldn’t mind seeing some of its exclusive features on your older Pixel phone, this could be an update to look forward to.
