By Verizon’s DROID PRO is getting a software OTA bumping its version up to 2.26.60. A series of improvements have been made to the device who’s goal it is to get Blackberry users see the light. Among the updates you can expect to see:
- Improved audio on voice calls
- Improved stability and performance
- User interface display now refreshes when user switches from GSM/UMTS communication to GlobalMode
- Device now prepends 011 to Country Code to send SMS messages
- Global Mode no longer resets when connecting to a USB charger
- Visual Voice Mail now detects airplane mode while WiFi is active
- Prompt return to full screen brightness after wake up.
If you’re not looking to wait for Verizon to ping you with the notification, users can try to force it to check in by heading to Settings > About Phone > System Updates on your PRO.

You are kinding, right? Beats the Torch
on every level.
I use this for business and it replaced my blackberry. I’m glad the audio quality will be improving. At times I feel like I’m listening to an autotune voice.
So far it’s been a pleasant upgrade from my old curve. I think the extended battery will be my next upgrade.
Just gave this phone to my wife for Christmas. Even though she/I hate Blackberry the only similarity is the keyboard which is why she wanted this phone. And I have to say I like the keyboard better than the blackberry and much better than the Palm Pre Plus which she moved over from.
Installed the update now my battery will not charge? Anyone have any ideas?
