Nope, T-Mobile didn’t forget about you, Slide owners: one XDA developer has released a 2.2.1-based Espresso ROM for you folks to enjoy. He alleges it’s based on a new leak from T-Mobile. This could indicate a rollout is close to being initiated, but we’ve seen what happens when we assume based on leaks. (Hint: tons of Vibrant owners weren’t happy.) The ROM in question can be found here. Early reactions are that it works extremely well. Be sure to give it a shot and let us know what you think. [via HTCSource]
Very nice.
Do have to be rooted to use xda download?
@Rich
looks like it since its de-odexed
I’m there! Just found a new company selling t-shirts with QR Codes… I’m interested. They promote the world’s greatest phone: Android http://bit.ly/fDyUfL
If that was the case we would have it on epic now, according to our leak.
Ofcoures you have to be rooted to flash this update
Flshing now hope it works great (with cyanogen mod in quadrant i get 1149 hope this new rom can beat it!!
Only tested it out quickly on my slide before switching back to my 4g, but everything was working and super snappy…its gotta be close to final build.
ok the new rom is ok ?? i did loose some points in quadrant standard now its getting only 894:(
Not sure about it, but I’m running Android 2.3 already via CyanogenMod 7. So sweet, and already past T-Mobiles release of 2.2.1. Not entirely T-Mobile’s fault mind you. Check it out, if you’re not afraid to be a guinea pig. It’s worth it to me. Keep the Slide alive.
Has anyone got a backup to work in rom manager? I keep getting the recovery with the red triangle.
Nice this means froyo is near! But i wont get my hope up lol
Since you have to be rooted to use this, I see no advantage over just running CM7. It’s faster, slimmer, and runs 2.3 instead of 2.2.
TerrorCandii – please email me to help me get my slide on 2.3 like yours!!
