While the Motorola Atrix 4G is also claiming the title, the release of the LG Optimus 2X in Korea all but assures that the so-called “superphone” is the world’s first featuring a dual-core processor. Never mind that the Atrix might be the first in the United States, the Optimus 2X is now up for pre-order in the UK via retailer Play.com. A cool £469.99 will land you an unlocked, SIM-free version of the handset for deployment on the compatible carrier you see fit. The handset will be shipping out March 18th.

well that’s not quite the deciding factor. I’m more concerned with the 3D capability. any phone can do fast 2d. Just look at our computers, the difference is in 3D not 2D.
so which one has a better 3D GPU? with games like Dungeon Defenders, i’d like to be ready. I know Orion will blow both of these out the water with it’s GPU but between the atrix and lg, which one?

I wish this phone would come to T Mobile sooner than later. This phone is a beast.
I know that the moto atrix commercial was posted on the site but i came across the lg 2x commercial http://www.gforgames.com/gadgets/news-gadgets/lg-optimus-2x-flexes-muscles-commercial-2975/ . Looks pretty damn good imo. :)
Atrix claiming world’s first dual core smartphone? Pfft this thing’s ben around now for over a month. All my korean friends have one.
So if I buy the unlocked version, can I activate it on Verizon? Is it “4g” ready?
if it does run on verizon, can I keep my unlimited data/internet plan? since it wont be an upgrade I wouldnt have to change or renew my contract, or would I have to in order to access the “4g” network?
You can’t use this on verizon. This is a gsm phone and verizon’s network is cdma
Currently it’s only a GSM phone so it won’t work on Verizon.
For Verizon or Sprint, you will need a CDMA version with the correct radio frequency.

This phone should run circles around the atrix. Folks, if you want to play 3D games, don’t get the atrix and cry later.
