A new “Samsung Mobile Tablet” device has passed Bluetooth ORG’s certfication with the model number GT-P1003. This could be many things: a Wi-Fi only version of the original Galaxy Tab, a 4G version of the Galaxy Tab set to launch on a couple of carriers, or even the Galaxy Tab 2 that is set to launch at Mobile World Congress, according to leaks. This doesn’t reveal anything we didn’t already know, but it’s stretching its legs in testing labs somewhere and it should be hopping on a plane headed right for Barcelona on February 13th. We’ll be there to meet it. [via CellPhoneSignal]
Why would the Galaxy Tab 2 have Bluetooth 2.1+EDR when the Galaxy Tab we already have as Bluetooth 3.0?
Bugs me that all new mobile devices (laptops, phones, tablets, etc) do not use BT 3.0. The Galaxy S has it and I figured by now everyone would be using 3.0.
Or maybe the smaller one (4 inches I think) ipod touch style
I doubt that “P1003” would be the successor of “P1000”.
Doum – your right it probly is the Galaxy S PMP which is considered a tablet.
Everyone who bought the galaxy tab should be pissed(myself included, have since sold it) that they are hearing galaxy 2 rumors. The tab as it stands now has the hardware to run honeycomb but with gingerbread being in between froyo and honeycomb I highly doubt the current tab will ever get an official update past what it already has. Samsung flat out doesn’t support its devices. Look at the galaxy s line. Ivalso owned one of those and they got a half assed froyo update. And so far only the vibrant cuz it was the first to release and t mo customers where pissed. So naturally Samsung and t mobile had to do just enough to cover its ass.
