More Press Shots of Verizon’s HTC Merge Emerge

11

I totally did not mean to do that with the title. Anywho, PocketNow has gotten their paws on new official press shots of Verizon’s HTC Merge. It’s not as if we haven’t seen this phone a billion times before, but these seem like crisp and clear shots – earlier press shots weren’t as clear and didn’t show off the brushed aluminum backing as well as they did here. Verizon’s expected to launch this one sometime soon as their version has already hit the FCC and Alltel, who is now owned by Verizon, has already announced their plans to carry it.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. You link to and say Thunderbolt in your article.

    Fail Sauce!

  2. If this phone had been 4G equipped I would have waited for it instead of TB, oh well, its a good win for the users who aren’t making the 4G jump anytime soon xD

    1. I agree. I grabbed the TBolt to lock that line into 2 years of $30/month LTE and to grab possibly one of the last non-encrpyted phones. I prefer phones with qwerty keyboards, but I wasn’t sure how long the $30/month was going to last and I was sick of the encrypted bootloader on the D2. As you said, it’s a great phone for anyone who isn’t going to be seeing LTE in their area any time soon. For the record – I’ve had no problems with throttling and unless you’re one of those people who think you’re going to replace your home internet with your phone tether, or spend 7 hous a day watching videos and movies instead of using a TV like a normal person, I doubt throttling will be an issue for you.

  3. Other sources say that Pocketnow is releasing old news…

  4. what happened here

  5. Crap. Sorry guys, I’ve been playing with an HTC Thunderbolt in my head and I must have crossed some wires.

  6. This will be a nice option for those who want a keyboard on the phone but I think if they would have added 4g it would have really been a huge seller.

  7. I’ve been waiting for this phone for so long (I have big hands so the droid’s KBs do NOTHING for me) that I’m starting to think Verizon is just F’n with me.

I don’t even care about 3G vs. 4G. I just want a phone I can text with and not lose my mind. Just release the darn thing, VZW!

  8. I really like how the search button is lit up red.

  9. I was excited about this phone…like a year ago.

  10. Release has been pushed back to April 28th.
