Looks like a device named the XT862 by Motorola Mobility has just passed Bluetooth certification – and it’s probably the DROID 3. Nothing concrete to go on here, and the model number does sound weird compared to Verizon’s other Moto DROID offerings, but there really are no other notable Motorola devices headed to North America that we know of. WTB this with the new OMAP 4 or Tegra 3
This is going to have to go against iPhone 5 and it needs Kal El (Tegra 3) to defeat the evil emperor
encrypted bootloader = no thanx gg
locked bootloader=who cares.. people are always worrying about what something cant do. should focus on what it can do and not be so pessimistic. a phone is for calling and texting, u dont need an unlocked bootloader to do that lol. as long as i can root it ill be getting one once im done with my milestone 2.
I thought that a locked bootloader mean it was difficult to root a device? That would certainly explain why locked bootloaders on phones get people up in a tizzy.
Can still be rooted but custom ROMS’s would be out.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up. To that end I can understand why people don’t like locked bootloaders. Custom ROMs are one of the biggest benefits of root access.
By far the sexiest phone with keyboard EVER
HTC Universal?
So how long til this thing comes out? Cause this is the next phone I want I love my og Droid.
Is there a typical length of time from Bluetooth certification to the release of a device? Does getting this certification just now mean that the device is months away from launch, or weeks? (I assume not days.)
