Nope, Verizon hasn’t forgotten about you Fascinate owners. It looks like they’re working on a Gingerbread update for the device and P3Droid has leaked the first known build for it. From the looks of it, there’s not much here that’s new. You do get Samsung’s new darker color scheme for the notification pane and we imagine the latest version of Swype, but we can’t tell what else has changed since Froyo. Head on over to XDA for instructions and support, but know that you’re responsible for anything that happens to your device. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

You know what? I’m pretty happy with Samsung’s Android support right now.
Open bootloader, giving devs phones to work with, gingerbread (I didn’t even expect gingerbread from Samsung).

It just got froyo 5 or 6 weeks ago, haha
Did the update, it worked with out a glitch.. was able to root using superoneclick from xda..worked if I did not allow it to install busybox, which btw never popped up before when using superoneclick to root other androids…so far so good.. so far the changes are minimal…..a few extra settings such as font…but nice to have all the same..oh netflix works from the link provided with the leaked from instructions…could be a tad scary to flash using ogdin..but it works.
