If you were wondering how soon you would be able to enjoy MiUi after the DROID X and DROID 2 got second init support, stop wondering – it’s here. Everything is as it would appear on other devices so you should feel right at home if you’ve been to this rodeo before. Simply download the .zip files (DROID X, DROID 2), do your necessary backups, wipe and flash. Support can be had here (DROID X) and here (DROID 2). [via Droid-Life]
please don’t directly link the .zip on our fileserver :( it helps support the bandwith if you could shoot us a link to the original source of the file!
thanks,

Now if only they’d release it for Droid 2 Global. But no one develops for us. :(
Why do all custom ROM sites suck ass. I just want a quick and dirty “how to install this ROM” document and low and behold I can’t easily find one on the site.
What works, what doesn’t? What bugs and what added features?
Does this ROM do anything other than make my phone look like a phone that I hate?
Does it fix any issues that we DX users are having with the stock gingerbread ROM?
Does it have any new and innovative features?
From what I can tell, that site relies on its forums to do everything for them – and the Droid X forum doesn’t really seem… populated.
I’m right there with you. After some digging I found that if you are running any version of GB – you have to SBF back to Froyo before applying this.
I read that if you’re running CM7, you don’t have to SBF.
That’s true since MIUI is built from a CM4DX foundation. I’m running APEX RC2 which has been super fast & stable – but I was a die-hard MIUI with my OG Droid. SBFing isn’t hard – but I get weary of constantly resetting all my app configurations with each new ROM so I’ve become pickier & slower at applying them.
If this had a TBH kind of install I’d be all over it.
Getting ready to try it out now.
Love all the options!
MIUI is a good ROM with lots of features… but for my taste it looks too iPhone like with the original theme it comes with. A good ROM alternative though!
Well MIUI was kind of made to be like the best of both iOS and Android. I like it a lot. It has started to slow down on my OG Droid but I can’t seem to get myself away from it. An important feature though I think people should know is that it has screenshot capture built in by pressing volume down and menu
I agree with you. I like it a lot. It added in the iOS parts that I liked(and some that I didn’t). but it’s still Android. You can still use other launchers, lockscreen replacements, etc. Just because it may resemble the iPhone doesn’t mean that it’s as locked down.
Tried miui. Tried cm7.. Love the options. I need full functionality on my dx, however. So? I wait.
Tried it out…seemed overly complex. I really missed the simplicity of the standard Android UI. Went back to CM7. Which seems faster and is easier to navigate. IMO
