Orange confirmed today that the Sony Ericsson “Xperia mini pro” is coming to the UK carrier for the low, low price of FREE. You can find the Xperia Mini Pro in Orange’s coming soon section on their site and while we still don’t have a actual release date, it’s been rumored the Mini Pro will drop in September.
This device is the sequel to SE’s X10 Mini Pro that came out last year and this little guy is packing some serious specs despite its small demeanor. For instance, this guy has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 5MP camera, 3-inch 480×320 SLCD display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a full slide out QWERTY keyboard.
I got to play with this while running around Google I/O and honestly can’t say enough about the device. The performance, the small form factor, the keyboard, Timescape UI, there’s just so much to love in this small, happy-meal of an Android device. I can only hope and cross my fingers this comes stateside so I can convince my kid sister to pick one up.

The phone in this picture is more than 1 year old!
There is a new device with the same name coming out in late August in europe… which will be great. The only problem is, that it has the exact same name… why Sony Ericsson… why???
The one that’s been out for a year is called “Xperia X10 Mini Pro”
The new one is “Xperia Mini Pro” It’s dumb, I know. And yeah, I think Orange is using the old pic =p
