It is indeed a small world (enjoy: that song makes me want to kill myself) but its still big enough to screw us out of one-on-one time with the first Acer Android Phone, dubbed the A1 on the Acer Liquid line of phones. Lucky for us the folks at CNET UK got their hands on it for an extended period of time.
To summarize what they learned from their hands-on adventure:
- Slightly customized version of Android including social networking features and home screen widgets. Think MOTO BLUR.
- Lots of custom clocks – yippee for time!
- Snapdragon did its name right, loading things up in a beastly snap
- WVGA Screen displayed YouTube vids quite brilliantly
- Home/Back/Menu/Search buttons are touch sensitive
- Not fingerprint friendly
- Very thin… only 12mm thick/thin
- 3.5mm headset jack
- Custom music player widget
Props to Flora Graham and the folks at CNET for getting this up so quickly, make sure to visit them for the full story.
What will the price be? What carrier is it going on? Would it work on t-mobile USA?
Anyone know if this is coming to the states?
That is one sexy looking phone!
Show me snapdragon with physical keyboard … then maybe Princess G1 gets dumped, not until.
What? No video? I really want to know if it’s screen is OLED or not.
if that phone had an OLED,snapdragon and 4g capability it would be 500-600, if not more, on contract pretty much guaranteed.
Hey guys, just an idea. How about getting a QR code beside the YouTube videos, so those whose access blocked at work could quickly watch them on our supercool phones ;)
other sites are saying it’s a 728mhz processor not a 1ghz :(
this kinda puts a damper on our relationship, acer. i thought we were meant to be
After seeing this, I thought I might need to wait. I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on the Hero… What carrier? If it’s only on TMo then it’s no good as I don’t have TMo 3G here and there’s no word on when that will actually happen. Right now, it’s either the Sholes or the Hero… Will this even be out soon?
3.8 inch screen whoo hooo … well according to the C-net review.
@Matt: “Anyone know if this is coming to the states?”
None of the good phones are coming to the states. At least, not before Q4 2010.
…Sorry for the pessimism, I’m a bit angry at my contract at the moment.
