Git Media Announces Surge and Pro Tablets with 250GB HDD

14

Git Media is hoping to enter the Android tablet race strong with the introduction of two new tablets, the NVIDIA Tegra 2-packing Surge and Samsung Exynos 4210-rocking Pro. Other than their top-class dual-core CPUs, the two device do not differ greatly. Both feature 16:9 widescreen 10.1-inch displays at 1280×768 pixels, 1GB of RAM, and a massive 250GB Seagate HDD. Also making the spec sheet are 5MP and 2MP cameras on the rear and front respectively, built-in speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack, and ports for USB, microSD, and miniUSB. Both the Git Surge and the Git Pro are available now for pre-order through the company’s website for a rather reasonable $479.99. They are even throwing in your choice of a leather case and wireless keyboard or a 3-year warranty with your reservation. The offer runs through the 15th of October.

  1. I love my ASUS Transformer…

  2. Exynos and a 250GB HDD? Must resist…

  3. Now is that an HDD or SSD? Would love an ssd. But a replaceable HDD is snazzy too!

    1. Based on the price I am sure it isn’t a SSD.

  4. This might be enough to sway me away from the Archos tablet

    1. Having owned 4 Archos tablets I would give you this advice. There is risk in buying from either manufacturer. Wait until reviews come out on both devices before you make your decisions. I liked my Archos tablets but they never quite lived up to their hype or potential.

    2. The Archos 70 and 101 include a 250GB HDD option, with a Dual-Core 1.5GHz processor, and will cost quite a bit less than this one.

      1. Their HDD failure rate is ridiculously high. This is from experience.

    3. I’ve had 4 different Archos devices and really doubt I’ll ever get one again, mainly because of their terribly defective hard drives.

I’d love to try this one out though.

  5. would rather they left out the HDD made it 16gb and put a full size SD slot on it

  6. Are they the same price? Why would anyone take the tegra2 surge then? And the Archos tabs look like they fit in right between the two (processor wise). They’v got the 1.2ghz TI chip (I believe), which I’d say is better than the tegra, but not as good as the exynos… Too many choices! Once prices go down, I wont stress so much over which one i’d like.

And Kudos for using the Mazda Furai in the background. Such a sick car:)

    1. For “Tegra only” games ?

  7. WOW thin is in nice to see.
Still cant wait to see pricing and US release info on the Toshiba AT200….
COME ON TOSHIBA GET OFF THE STICK!

  8. And here I was sure I wanted to purchase the up-coming Asus X101 for my mobile media solution…damn. Now I’m torn again.
