This is the tablet that most of you have been waiting for. Samsung’s officially announced the 7 inch Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0. Unlike previous beliefs, this won’t be just a dual-core upgrade with Gingerbread still on board. This is a full Honeycomb Android tablet experience with TouchWiz sitting on top.
Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t mention which processor is inside but we do get the clock speed – 1.2GHz. It could be anything from their own dual-core Exynos to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. And don’t forget that TI and NVIDIA chips can be clocked up to 1.2GHz, as well, so trying to narrow it is tough.
The 7 inch display isn’t Super AMOLED or Super AMOLED Plus, but we didn’t expect it to be. Super LCD is still the star here and we’re getting a WSVGA resolution. Other specs to round out the experience include 1GB of RAM, dual cameras (3 megapixel rear, 2 megapixel front) with 720p HD video recording, 1080p video playback, 16 or 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 with USB Host support, HSPA+ radios and more.
GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus will be available starting in Indonesia and Austria from end-October and gradually rolled out globally including Southeast and Southwest Asia, US, Europe, CIS, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Japan and China.
The obligatory “we can’t wait for this thing to come stateside” statement is appropriate here. We hope to hear specific pricing and availability information from carriers and retailers sometime soon.

Why resolution ir 1024*600.
Some of anounced 7inch slates have 1280*800.
Price. It WILL be cheap, and it won’t compete directly with the 7.7, which is being positioned as a premium product and likely priced as high if not higher than the 10.1.
Parts-wise, I’m betting this thing is cheaper to make than the original Hummingbird-powered Galaxy Tab. So a sub-$300 WiFi version is quite likely.
I have the O.G Galaxy Tab 7 with 2.3.4, so not interested in this updated model. What i am tickled about is the fact that the fine folks at XDA might be able to port HC 3.2 to the O.G Tab 7 now much more easier once they dump the ROM. Oh giddy..
With ICS so close, whose source should be available again, I’m thinking it’ll be simpler to port that than work with a dumped ROM.

Yeah, if they can get this down to Kindle Fire pricing, it will be a hit! Judging by all the lower end specs (camera, screen, etc.) let’s hope they can work that price down =)

“This is the tablet that most of you have been waiting for”… I think not, I’ve been waiting for the Nexus tablet which has: Flexible folding 16” Super Duper AMOLED Plus Turbo Mega screen, Dual Octocore Processors, 32GB RAM, 1TB Solid State ROM, 1 Month Battery Life running Tiramisu (Android 9), I believe it will wake you up each morning with soothing music and a back rub. I’m thinking mid to late 2012?
