Cricket is continuing their lineup of Muve Music-enable Android smartphones with the ZTE Chorus. Most notable for it;s low cost of $40 after rebates and inexpensive month-to-month service options, the Chorus won’t turn any heads with what it packs within its plastic shell. A meager 600MHz CPU, 3.2-inch resistive touch display, and 2MP camera all amount to something decidedly entry-level, but for those unwilling to sign away the next two years to a carrier to maintain subsidized pricing on more powerful hardware, it could be an option.

I want one!
“I want one!”
RESISTIVE touch screen! Are you sure about that, lol?
I hate resistive touchscreens. I have two phones and I can’t stand my resistive dumbphone. Sometimes I have to hit a button up to five times for it to register.
Its cheap bro…this $80 bill with sprint is killing me
Why is this on a website about android?
I can’t seem to find anything about the phone running Android (except a spec sheet on Phone Arena).
The press release and the phone’s listing on Cricket’s website don’t mention Android. Also a search for Android doesn’t produce a result for the Chorus.
But the menu, home, and back buttons are all there.
Not that I’m completely sure I’m right, just wanted to point that out (although to be fair I’m not sure I want that thing running Android).
It runs 2.3
I literally just got my Chorus, yesterday, after my old, unbelievably simplistic phone finally died. And, so far, I’m relatively pleased with it. Battery life is crappy, but I can live with that.
Snagged it through Best Buy Mobile for $30, with the $45 Muve Music plan (everything unlimited, save for talk… which is 1000 mins. Like I’m /ever/ going to use 1000 mins in a month -lol-) and they slapped the insurance on for me for $9 a year, with no deductible.
So, I am certainly not inclined to complain. Decent phone (thus far — only time will tell), more than affordable. Beats Net10 (which I had before) hands down. It’s my first (albeit low-end) smartphone. We’ll see how it pans out.
I’m not sure this is an ANDROID device.Nowhere in the press release is ANDROID mentioned, nor on CRICKET’S website. ZTE gives the O/S as LINUX based, but, does not call it an ANDROID.
If it’s an ANDROID,CRICKET & ZTE have both omitted this small detail.
Another entry-level phone, how many more are you going to add to your line-up,CRICKET?
Get a decent mid-to-high end Smartphone w/decent specs & battery life, or, you’ll continue to lose customers like myself, as I switched to SPRINT w/the MOTOROLA PHOTON 4G.
Expect more of the same as you,CRICKET,continue to feature disposable phones in your line-up.
Unless I’m mistaken Cricket’s market niche is that of offering low priced plans. Although I’m sure they wish they still had your business I don’t think you’re really their target consumer.
Also, calm down with the caps.
Take a chill pill yourself,SAM,it’s not an uncommon practice to capitalize product brand names.
But…I’m not a product brand.
God. Its a budget carrier so dude chill out.
You’re absolutely right a.studd,CRICKET is a budget carrier,w/overpriced & underperforming products.
Other budget carriers have stepped up already to offer better service & products,CRICKET is a little late to the game,& still continues to offer uninteresting phones that no one wants.
This latest offering, the ZTE CHORUS,is yet another example of this.
I could understand the mid-range specs, but,a 1000 mAh battery is horrible.Better drag around the orange extension cord if you want to use this phone away from home.
It can’t believe people are still making phones with resistive touch screens….
Tengo un montón de teléfonos baratos
pointless making an android music player, there are no headphones with line control that work with android phones.
Is this a Android?
